Pool Service Ventura
Are salt chlorinating pools better?
If your like most people you’ve probably wondered what all the hype about salt water pools is all about. Are they really better on your skin? Do they do a better job chlorinating your pool? Are they expensive? How long do they last? Well you are about to find out. Ventura pool service specializes in all types of pools.
A salt water pool system is very similar to a tablet chlorinated pool. The main difference is that a salt water pool uses a salt sell to produce chlorine with salt. They do not run off of over the counter table salt. They use special chlorinating salt to chlorinate the pool. You may wonder why use chlorinating salt when you can just use tabs or liquid chlorine. This is a very good question. Chlorinating salt is a more natural way to remove bacteria from a pool. It is similar to how nature removes contaminates from water. Also salt water pools that operate well don’t need a floater in the pool. No floater means there is no way for an animal or child to accidentally choke on swallow poisonous chemical tabs.
Ventura Pool Service and Maintenance
Salt chlorinating pools usually don’t need weekly adjustments to their chlorine levels since the salt system monitors them. However, most systems tend to start to fail prematurely and chlorine needs to be added occasionally. Salt generators have about a 7 year life span depending on how well the water is balanced and how well the system is cleaned. Salt cells should be cleaned every 90 days about. To clean a salt cell you need to add a mixture of water and acid to it. Once you add the water and acid to it your let it sit for about 15 minutes so that the acid eats the build-up away. The extra build up can be picked out with a fine tooth pick or other instrument.
All in all, it just depends on your personal preference. If you don’t want a floater in your pool then ventura pool service can remove it. Or if you have sensitive skin and need a little more tolerable chemical level I would also recommend you install a salt system in your pool. But if you want to save money on your pool service and build cost I would opt out of a salt water pool. Traditional chlorine tablets do a great job chlorinating pools with a smaller up front cost. At the end of the day however, it just depends on your personal preference.
